Frequently Asked Questions
Is Birth Coaching for First-Time Parents?
Absolutely! Birth Confidence was created with first-time parents in mind. We'll walk through everything from the stages of labor and pain management to pushing, partner support, newborn procedures, and what to expect after birth. You'll leave feeling informed, prepared, and much more confident about the experience ahead.
Should my partner attend too?
Yes! Your partner is encouraged to join every session at no additional cost. They'll learn practical ways to support you during labor, advocate for your birth preferences, provide comfort measures, and feel like an active part of the birth experience rather than just an observer.
What if I already plan to get an epidural?
Birth coaching is still for you! Whether you're planning an epidural, hoping for an unmedicated birth, or keeping an open mind, you'll learn how labor works, how to cope before pain relief is available, how to make informed decisions, and what to expect throughout the entire birth process.
How are the sessions held?
All sessions are held live over a virtual meeting platform from the comfort of your home. You'll receive a link before your class, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and participate throughout.
Will I receive any resources after the session?
Yes! You'll receive helpful handouts, checklists, and practical resources that you can revisit as your due date approaches, so you don't have to remember everything from session.
What makes this different from a hospital birth class?
Birth Confidence is taught by a licensed pelvic floor physical therapist and birth coach who specializes in pregnancy, labor preparation, and postpartum recovery. Rather than simply explaining hospital policies, you'll learn evidence-based strategies, comfort techniques, pushing positions, pelvic floor preparation, and practical tools that help you feel confident making decisions that are right for your family.
